Aries and Libra Compatibility - Love and Life

Aries and Libra Compatibility

Aries people – with their element fire – are born leaders. They know what they want and they know how to get it. Brave and determined, they can also be impulsive and impatient and would not hesitate to make the first move in a potential relationship. Once in that relationship they are passionate and enthusiastic, with high expectations of their partner’s returning affections.

Librans, who have air as their element, like a well-balanced life. They are happiest when in a relationship and do not enjoy conflict; affectionate and considerate, they work hard to maintain peace in the home. Their love of harmony, however, can make them appear indecisive as they do not like to rock the boat by asserting their own views too strongly.

Compatibility of Aries and Libra

What do you get when you mix air with fire – whoosh! Add to this the fact that Aries and Libra are directly opposite on the astrological chart and you get a recipe for a passionate relationship. It’s true, of course, that opposites attract: Librans will be attracted and excited by the no-nonsense assertiveness and pioneering spirit of their new Arian lover and Arians will be impressed by Libra’s congenial company and admire their consideration for others.

The difficulty with opposites, though, in any relationship, is that the particular character trait which caused the ardent attraction in the first place can be the one that becomes most irritating when the passion dies down; once the novelty of the opposite quality wears off, it can start to become a target for criticism if the relationship isn’t carefully managed.

So an Arian man, for example, may soon find himself getting impatient with his Libran lover’s indecisiveness or even jealous of her ability to maintain harmony in all her relationships. A Libran woman may initially find her Arian man’s impulsiveness exciting, but after a while she could start to feel uncomfortable and out of control.

An Arian woman will initially love the courteous attentiveness given to her by her Libran man and he will greatly admire her intuition and adventurous spirit. He may, however, start to find himself feeling protective over her rashness, which could then cause her to feel hemmed-in and resentful – her fire needs to be allowed to burn! She also may find it difficult to cope with his irresolute nature.

Can an Aries and Libra Combination Work?

None of the above means that the Aries/Libra partnership is doomed to failure – these two very different characters can, with a little awareness and compromise, “complete each other”, as they say, so that the balance of fire and air does not go out of control, nor fizzle out altogether. They are both intelligent and affectionate and if the Arian practises patience and the Libran is sufficiently strong to let the scales wobble at little, they can enjoy their life together as the ultimate Mars and Venus adventure.

Leo Themes Astrology and Mythology

Leo:  July 24 – August 23 Leo Themes Astrology and Mythology Following on from the mothering Cancer sign, we move on to Leo – a sign associated with the father. This is a fixed, fire sign – that suggests it is an energy which stays the same and is passionately emotional. The fixed, fire influence also suggests that this is an energetic, outgoing, stubborn and stable energy. It is an extraverted sign too because of the fire influence. While Cancer is the sign associated with motherhood, Leo is associated with parenthood and children. In the Leo part of the developmental cycle, we have reached the stage where the ego of the individual has become strong and complete. The needs at this stage are quite basic, being personal recognition. If this need is met then the Leo influence can be positive and admirable with great powers to attract others to them. Where Cancer is concerned about where we belong, for example with a family, tribe or clan, Leo defines what makes us st...
